I have loved wooden boats for forty years and have owned and restored boats on east and west coast. I used to be an in instructor for Hurricane Island outward bound school in Maine which cemented my appreciation for wood boats. I also worked for Chesapeake bay foundation which used deadrise workboats and wooden skipjacks to expose students to the bay through traditional practices. I have almost finished building a cosine wherry and most recently was given an opportunity to help finish the restoration of a Lapworth 36. The boat had been on the hard for over ten years and with the support of two other steward's we were able to get the boat back in the water and are looking forward to participating in the WA360. I'm NOT an expert in wooden boats but do share an appreciation for boats with souls and stories. I'm foolish enough to enjoy spending time and money restoring wooden boats and has been a life long avocation/affliction.
