The evolution of standing rigging is at a turning point. When wire rope was introduced generations ago, sailors and riggers attempted to do with it what they had done with the natural fibers before it. We are currently turning things the other way. Come learn why modern synthetic standing rigging is superior to wire and rod systems, and how we draw on the traditional rigging skills to inform our use of this modern fiber.
