The Puget Sound Vessel Sewage No Discharge Zone (NDZ) rule came into effective over 4 years ago, on May 10, 2018. It means that vessel sewage cannot be discharged in the NDZ designated area, which includes Washington marine waters north to the Canadian border and west to the New Dungeness Lighthouse, including Lake Union and Lake Washington and all the connecting waters. This talk will cover why the NDZ is important, what we've found out about vessel sewage management since the rule came into effect, and answer some FAQs about the rule and how to comply.
