Sydney Heritage Fleet is a volunteer based maritime heritage organisation with a fifty seven year history of undertaking big restorations. SHF is about to start its seventh restoration of a 360 tonne inner harbour ferry. Unlike virtually every other major Maritime Museum in the world SHF receives no public funds. SHF has an operational fleet of nine vessels the smallest an eleven tonne 1908 "soap boat" the largest a one thousand tonne 1874 three masted barque. In between there are two steam ships two harbour tugs, two workboats, a vice regal steam launch and an Edwardian gentleman's yacht. All are restored crewed and operated by our volunteers. Come and hear how this unique organisation manages to survive.
